Pollo para mi hija :)

Hola!

As many of you can see, I'm learning Spanish. It's so much fun. I have class 2 nights a week and I feel like I'm learning a lot. The title of today's entry, however, has to do with Maddie. Yesterday was her 9 month check up. She had 2 shots :(, very sad, and then we talked with the doctor. She told us that Mad has the go ahead for eating lots of different table foods! I was thrilled. My life may get a little easier in terms of what I have to cart with me everytime I leave the house? Yessss. So, the first food the doctor mentioned was rotisserie chicken-just pull small amounts off and make sure they're super soft and offer it to her. Well, guess what? Maddie ain't no vegetarian:) She loved it! Hence, the title "Pollo para mi hija" (chicken for my daughter). She ate chicken 2 times yesterday. Also, some strawberries, peaches, and her puffs. It's so fun to watch her seem really unsure of what's in her mouth, and then decide it's good and swallow it. She's still in the 10th percentile (miniature) and her stats were: 16lbs & 26 1/2 inches long.
Tonight she will try a little pasta de Nardi and some spinach... wish us luck.

Hi my bi-lingual daughter! Love the updates on Madeline! I can't tell you how much I miss all of you. Being with everyone last week was the best celebration that anyone could ask for. I so appreciate you, Gabe and Maddie flying so far and then extending your stay. Even though Dan, Jen and the boys don't have as long of a flight it's still a lot of stuff to cart. And I know that Elisabeth and Justin realize how easy they have it for now!! So, thank you all so very much. It's great to see you challenging yourself and learning a new language. You were always so good at french that I'm expecting great things from you! Don't forget to sign up for your continuing education classes :) Feed Maddie as much organic food as possible and please try to only buy foods in the right season so you can know they aren't being imported from foreign countries. I'm increasingly concerned about our food supply so I want all of my babies and their babies to frequent your farmers' markets and buy only the best! Love you more than words can say - MOM

Sar, love the Spanish, it's awesome that you are challenging yourself with a new language. I haven't been able to sit down and do the pictures from the trip, but I will get to them in the next day or so. Just got back from Portland last night, and it is definitely nice to be home for longer than a day between flights. We too have started feeding Logan some food as well, and his face is absolutely the funniest thing of all time when trying a food for the first time. Although we haven't tried the Rotisserie chicken yet, I am afraid he may need his own the way he eats :) I hope all is well, and I will try putting the pictures up on a website so everyone can see them. Love you, and give my best to Gabe.

Thanks Mom and Dan. Mom, Gabe just went to the farmers market and that is where we got the peaches and tomatoes she's been eating. Dan, I figured Logan was probably ready for some food, especially because of all those teeth :) Learning Spanish is going really well. I had class last night and we are learning at a really fast pace, so I have to keep up with the homework or I could be lost. Dan, send pic's when you can. I'd love to see them. Miss you all.
