Day 52 & 53

Cannot believe I forgot to blog yesterday! Seriously it didn't even cross my mind, but the truth is that I was recovering from this yucky sickness that's been lurking in my home for 2.5 weeks :( Today is a much better day and even after taking girls to the doctor yesterday to find that they are completely fine they are still a bit cranky. Which brings me to my official "time-out." Sometimes when my kids are pushing every one of my buttons, plus fighting with each other and just being downright poopy, I put myself in a "time-out." It usually entails me putting a gate up between me in the kitchen and them on the other side. That way I can continue what I need to do but they can't get to me. It doesn't help with the noise factor though so I've chosen to run the exhaust fan on high above the stove to cancel out the noise :) It's safe because I can still see them, and let's face it, I can hear them too, but it still feels like a break for some reason. This morning started with one of those "time-outs" for me and here's what that looks like...

*Top to Bottom: Toes, & Waiting

I mean I know this is serious but it's so funny that they are just waiting for you at the gate. Poking their toes through, I don't know how you don't just melt. But I don't hear the noise every day, so I am sure the Mommy breaks are very necessary!

I think this is SO funny! They are just hanging out waiting for you. Do you tell them that you are in a time out? How can you resist my precious granddaughters????

Glad you are all feeling better. Love to all - to you too, Elisabeth!!

This is funny... I put Lucy down for quiet time, now that she's down to one nap. But it's really for me to have some alone time. I can hear her talking to her stuffed animals in her crib and she does get to settle down a bit too even though she doesn't sleep, when I come get her about 20 minutes later she seems more refreshed, as well as me! :)

This must be a thing for the Nardi girls. Last week, Lizzy took a time out from me!

Wait, she actually put me in time out. That is not the same thing.

I love it!!! :) I put myself in Time out all of the time and it drives Aibha bananas. I've never physically put anything up though-that would really elicit a reaction. They can't stand when we shut the bedroom door! Maybe it's time for those babygates to resurface. ;) See you tomorrow evening!! 7.45pm is great.

@Elisabeth-I do melt...but I'm a tough cookie :) @Mom-I can't really resist them but at the same time I place my sanity at a high priority :)@Laura-They totally need quiet time! It teaches them to play on their own and be creative with what to do without you. Good for you! Can't wait to see you guys in June!@Justin-I love being called a "Nardi Girl" :) Made my morning!
@Siobhan-I'm ready for our "time-out" tonight :) See ya then!!
